The school was founded in 1989, has 200 pupils of different nationalities
between the ages of 4 and 18. It is a member of the National Association
of British Schools in Spain ( NABBS ) and of the European Council of International
Schools ( ECIS ). It is an authorised examinations centre for the University
of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate and for the University of London
Board. Pupils at 16 years take the international G.C.S.E. examinations
and, at 18, the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examinations.
The School follows, in general terms, the
English National Curriculum, covering the major areas of English, Mathematics,
Science and Technology, the Humanities, the Arts and Physical education.
In the Upper Primary school pupils also begin in the study of a third
language. The school also follows Spanish and Social Studies according
to the objectives of the Spanish National Curriculum.
The majority of the teaching is in English. Spanish-qualified teachers
teach Spanish and Sociales. The school calendar follows the European pattern
of summer holidays of two months and breaks at Christmas, Easter and half-terms.
The school day for pupils is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lunch is provided
for all pupils at the school. Transport is available, on designated school
bus routes, to and from school. Coach services are provided from Almuñécar,
La Herradura, Nerja and Motril with regular stopping points along the
route.

The school is located to the west of Málaga,
adjacent to Club Deportivo Calderón, whose facilities they use
including tennis, paddle, football and basketball. The main building is
made up of modern, purpose-built facilities on a 5.000 m² site, set
in a residential area.
The school currently takes pupils of various nationalities ( the majority
are currently Spanish ) from 3 to 13/14 years. Newcomers to Spain are
given special help and support in Spanish. The educational programme is
based on the English National Curriculum. In the next few years the school
intends to develop to enable pupils to take IGCSE and A´LEVEL examinations.
The teaching staff are fully Qualified British or Spanish Teachers.
Academic Facilities include science laboratory, library with CD-ROM stations,
art room, and computers in classrooms.
All students are served with lunch.
Buses cover most of the residential areas of Málaga and the coast.
All students wear the approved school uniform.
The school calendar follows the Northern Hemisphere pattern, with a long
summer holiday for two months, and breaks at Christmas and Easter. The
school day begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 16 p.m. with one more hour till
17.00 for extra-curricular activities, and break from 13:00 till 14:15
for lunch.

The school is for 2-year-olds to 16-year-olds
and from 2002 - 03 will teach Bachillerato ( Spanish university preparatory
courses ): 16 to18-year-old.
This is a bilingual ( Spanish-English ) school, ruled by the Spanish Ministry
of Education. Hours are from 9:00 to 17:30.
